ELECTROSTATIC POWDER COATING: A HIGH-PERFORMANCE, DURABLE, AND ECO-FRIENDLY COATING

At Feralum, electrostatic powder coating is not just a service, it has been our specialty for over 35 years.

We enhance all types of metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminum) with a durable, attractive, and environmentally friendly finish.

Thanks to our solvent-free process, we guarantee perfect adhesion, a uniform finish, and exceptional resistance to the most extreme conditions.

Feralum is more than just paint: it’s a signature.

What is electrostatic painting?

Electrostatic powder coating is an innovative process that uses fine particles of thermosetting, electrically charged powder. During application, the metal parts receive an opposite charge, allowing the powder to adhere perfectly, even in complex or hard-to-reach areas.

Once applied, the powder is polymerized in a high-temperature oven, creating a smooth or textured finish, depending on your choice.

The result?

Exceptional protection against impact, corrosion, weathering, and chemicals—without solvents, without drips, and with a reduced environmental footprint.

A 4-STEP PROCESS, CONTROLLED FROM START TO FINISH

01.

Surface Preparation

The quality of the coating begins with careful preparation using the following techniques:

Removal of grease, oil, dust, and oxides without altering the original metal.

Abrasive blasting to remove rust, old paint, or impurities and create controlled roughness.

We adapt the sandblasting process in accordance with standards to meet the following requirements:

Light sandblasting (SP7): Gentle cleaning without damaging the surface.

Commercial sandblasting (SP6): Removal of layers of rust or intermediate paint.

Near-white sandblasting (SP10): Maximum performance for extreme environments.

White sandblasting (SP5): Maximum performance for extreme environments.

02.

Electrostatic powder application

The powder is sprayed evenly using an electrostatic gun. The attraction between the powder charge and the metal part ensures uniform application without material loss, even in complex areas.

03.

Oven baking

The parts are heated to over 400°F in an industrial oven. The powder melts, bonds to the surface, and hardens to create a smooth, rigid, and ultra-resistant coating.

→ Capacity up to 40 feet for large industrial parts.

04.

Quality control

Each part undergoes visual inspection and performance testing according to strict criteria, ensuring full compliance with industry standards.

→ A certificate of compliance can be provided at the customer's request.
